NEW YORK - July 9, 2019 - PRLog -- Desire To Help Veterans Suffering From PTSD Drives a Scientist to Create A New Form of Therapy for Anxiety, Depression, Pain and Insomnia.

In January of 2014, following the call of his heart, Roman Torgovitsky, Ph.D. landed in Kyiv International airport (Ukraine) during the peak of Maidan revolution. He could have never known that this journey will lead him to face some of the toughest challenges in his life as well as to developing a novel form of treatment.

Unlike, United States and Europe, Ukraine had no Veterans Affairs services. Veterans returning from the frontlines to civilian life were left without any assistance with post-traumatic stress symptoms.

Veterans continued to suffer and Roman felt the urgency to help. Together with his colleagues, he created a non-profit "Healing War Scars", and hired European psychotherapists specializing in psychological trauma.

However, very soon he could see that the psychotherapeutic approach to trauma suffered from a problem endemic to the entire modern healthcare system: fragmentation of care. While most veterans suffered from insomnia and pain, the psychotherapists focused primarily on talking, talking and more talking. While there was great value in talk therapy, Roman could see that it had low effectiveness when so many veterans suffered from poor sleep quality and pain.

Fortunately, during his doctoral studies at Harvard Medical School, Division of Sleep Medicine, Roman became intrigued by a simple question: can we use the cutting-edge research to create a new and more effective model of healthcare? Indeed, research shows that modern clinical medicine over-uses pharmacological and surgical treatments puts way too much emphasis on narrow medical specialties, and is in dire need of experts who can treat the whole person including physiological, psychological and social issues. As a result, millions of people continue to needlessly suffer from a myriad of chronic disorders.

Roman decided to build a new program for veterans. He became determined to continue developing systems-focused therapy Roman started creating at Harvard. Systems-focused therapy treats disease by comprehensively boosting the health of the major systems of the human organism: physiological, psychological, emotional, social and intellectual.

While modern clinical care is fragmented, the systems-focused therapy looks at the human organism as a complex holistic made up from high-interconnected subsystems. Systems-focused therapy has its roots in systems science, an interdisciplinary field investigating complex systems.

Since this time, systems-focused therapy has helped many veterans and civilians. In his latest book, "Break Free From Neck Pain & Tension: For Those With Insomnia, Depression, Anxiety or Panic Attacks", Roman shares basic elements of the systems-focused therapy for the treatment of neck pain.

Roman wrote the book for both medical professionals as well as for millions of people suffering from neck pain and tension accompanied by insomnia, depression, anxiety or panic attacks. Based on cutting-edge research, the book presents a completely new paradigm for treating chronic pain.

For the next five days, Roman Torgovitsky's e-book "Break Free From Neck Pain & Tension" price is reduced from $9.99 to $0.99 and is available at https://www.amazon.com/Break-Free-Neck-Pain-Tension-ebook/dp/B07SHGBFVN/

"Break Free From Neck Pain & Tension" is rated 5 stars by those who have purchased the book. Here is what some of the reviewers have said:

"I am a physician. I am also a great skeptic. After reading this book, I have to say that I found it very useful for my neck tension and tightness. I also had several insights about how the medical profession can improve care we deliver to patients." - Amazon Customer

"The problem with the dominant health care industry is that it so often focuses on symptom relief rather than dealing with the underlying issue causing the problem in the first place. But symptoms (pain) are just a warning sign that something isn't right, and should not be numbed without dealing with the source. Roman Torgovitsky's book is exceptionally important for those dealing with chronic neck pain, recommending a comprehensive approach to body well-being. But unlike the pseudo-scientific nonsense that tends to be associated with wholistic healing, this evidence-backed book is based on thorough scientific research, and it could really change your life. It's been a life-changer." - Omar Baddar
