Photographer Matt Fitt Captures Moments in Costa Mesa History

COSTA MESA, Calif. - May 26, 2019 - PRLog -- In 1826, the oldest surviving camera photograph, View from the Window at Le Gras, was taken by Nicéphore Niépce. Since 1826, photographers have captured and documented countless historic moments. On Friday, May 25, 2019, photographer Matt Fitt captured no less than four moments in Costa Mesa history.

First came Mayor Katrina Foley (katrinafoley.com) receiving a Congressional Recognition from the office of Congressman Harley Rouda for the Donald Dungan Library during the official Grand Opening Ceremonies.

The $36.5 million project includes the 23,000-square-foot library, a 1-acre park, community center and playground. The playground and community center will come online in spring 2020.

The second historical moment was in the form of a Proclamation from the office of Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris and presented to the mayor by Liz McNabb.

Next came the official ribbon cutting to open the Donald Dungan Library to the public.

The most exciting of all the actions caught by Matt Fitt's camera on this historical day was the moment when Mayor Katrina Foley leads the L.E.A.P Program (Learn, Explore, and Play) preschool students into the library for the first public tour.
