"As a writer, actor and comedian it is especially gratifying to see my work as a writer, actor and, now, producer, which took two years in collaboration with a great team, be presented on an international streaming platform," says John Di Domenico. "I hope that viewers who appreciate political humor, and are looking for something alternative, will visit Amazon Prime."
Fake News: A Trump Story was written by John Di Domenico and Jeff Kassel with Ron Sparks with additional scripting by Ada Lee Halofsky & Angela Hoover with B.T. McNichol as script consultant; producers are Di Domenico, Armando Gutierrez, Jr. and Kory Apton.
"This story is as smart as it is ridiculous and hilarious. John skillfully connects with a broad audience of haters and supporters and everyone in between," producer Kory Apton says.
"Developing Fake News: A Trump Story with Di Domenico and Hoover was a painfully funny way to address narcissism and the American psyche," Apton says. "I am betting that it will also appeal to an international crowd."
John Di Domenico recently returned from Brussels, where he had been invited to perform as President Trump for an event at the European Parliament for a Socialist Democrats' event; he has been a regular on various news programs of the BBC, Today in Australia, Indian News Zee and other broadcast outlets overseas throughout Europe and abroad, in addition to his performances and interview appearances nationally, and locally, throughout the United States.
Fake News: A Trump Story is a highlight of Di Domenico's "Donald Trump," whom he has been impersonating for 15 years, just one of 30+ impersonations the actor does. In 2017, he won the Laugh Factory's international Trump impersonator contest and took home "Best Trump" award from ABC's The View, including top endorsements from SNL's original "Donald Trump," Darrell Hammond, with whom he appeared on CNN.
