Hair Competition Brings New Life to Fashion Week MN

MINNEAPOLIS - April 24, 2019 - PRLog -- Minneapolis is about to get itself into a hairy situation and audiences are HERE for it!  Next week's Fashion Week MN is going to be getting a makeover with the first ever live hair competition at FLAGRANT: Fashion of the Fringe, produced by Minneapolis' own award-winning salon Fox Den Salon.  FLAGRANT will take place at the Pourhouse Uptown on Friday May 3, 2019, with doors at 7 and the show at 7:30. The show will feature hair by Curl Power, Fox Den Salon, and MN NAF! Salon; designs and styling from Project Runway allumns Danielle Everine and Samantha Rei, up and coming designer Jen Beaupre, and local vintage powerhouse Via's Vintage; with judging by QUEERDO drag queens The Other Jeannie Retelle, Sissy Tops and Trisha Spectacle; and hosted by the internationally recognized burlesque performer and local luminary Sweetpea. Tickets are open to the public for this 18+ show at flagrantfashion.eventbrite.com, with General Admission at $22 and VIP packages at $55.

Join us for the second annual FLAGRANT: Fashion of the Fringe, where Fox Den Salon shines light on the unsung heroes of the fashion scene: the hair. This one of a kind competition where salon teams have joined up with some of the best designers in the city to test their hair skills against one another, to be judged by the pickiest of judges, the cast of Minneapolis's monthly drag revue QUEERDO.  That's right, over the top hair and fashion, judged by drag queens, hosted by international burlesque star, Sweetpea, on stage right here in Minneapolis!  If seeing these styles isn't enough, we've got MORE.  This competition gets even crazier with each team being randomly assigned a "wild card" style to create during the show, in the balcony of the Pourhouse, to be unveiled as the FINAL ROUND of the competition, with the audience getting to put in their two cents and award the Audience Favorite award to one of the teams.

This is your chance to help make fashion week history, where we award the top artists in the Twin Cities with the "BEST DESIGN TEAM IN THE WHOLE WORLD IN THE ROOM AT THIS MOMENT" Award for 2019!  This show is nice and early, with doors opening at 7pm so that you've got plenty of time to get out and actualize all your new hair and fashion inspiration out on the town
