HOUSTON - April 16, 2019 - PRLog -- "GO FOR LANDING" a riveting new Apollo 11 documentary from filmmaker Kevin Stirling, starring NASA's Gene Kranz, Glynn Lunney, Steve Bales and Dick Koos, that reveals the decisive role of NASA's pre-mission simulations and takes viewers inside Mission Control to relive the fear-filled, frantic final minutes of Apollo 11's lunar descent on July 20, 1969, has won the top documentary Platinum NASA REMI Award at the 52nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

"Congratulations Kevin Stirling on winning the 2019  Platinum NASA REMI Award for 'GO FOR LANDING'," said J. Hunter Todd, Chairman, and WorldFest-Houston Founding Director. "As we prepare to celebrate Apollo 11's 50th anniversary "GO FOR LANDING" serves as an important reminder for audiences of all ages of the lasting legacy of Apollo 11. We are thrilled that your documentary has won the coveted 2019 Platinum NASA Remi Award."

Audiences will recall Apollo 11 both for its timeless accomplishments, as well as for the terror-filled, final minutes of Apollo 11's descent when numerous computer alarms were sounding, fuel was running perilously low and the mission was in real danger, and nearly aborted.

"Thank you Worldfest-Houston. It is an honor and a thrill for me to win this prestigious award for "GO FOR LANDING" here in Houston and here at Worldfest," said Kevin Stirling, the film's producer and director.

"Apollo 11 changed our world and our worldview forever. It is only right at this time in our history that we celebrate NASA and this upcoming 50th anniversary.
