Opening Doors For International Students With Linkedin

RALEIGH, N.C. - March 27, 2019 - PRLog -- Amanda Chamberlain, owner of Pathways Consulting, has been invited to speak at a LinkedIn and Networking Seminar hosted by the Global Training Initiative and SKEMA program at North Carolina State University.  Ms. Chamberlain will teach students to develop LinkedIn profiles that will help them find and attract prospective employers and build connections in their fields.  The event will take place on March 29^th from 7-8:30 pm at the Venture II building on the main campus.  Ms. Chamberlain is a career counselor and specializes in helping students and professionals explore and move forward in their careers.  She is also the mentor of two international students in the GTI Mentor Program.

Of the event, Ms. Chamberlain said, "I am honored and delighted to be invited to speak to the GTI and SKEMA students.  I strongly believe in the value of LinkedIn to help students connect with potential employers and develop a strong network.  Many international students find it challenging to build a business network because their family and friends can't help them connect with employers in the US.  By developing a LinkedIn profile, they can utilize connections with NCSU faculty, fellow students and employers to find jobs."

The Global Training Initiative provides study, training, and research opportunities for students and professionals across the world. They have developed several short-term Fulbright Programs and have also worked with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the World Health Organization.  Their vision is to position North Carolina as a global hub of education, business, and culture and connect campus resources with community needs for global success in North Carolina. Since the Global Training Initiative (GTI) launched in 2008, its student and professional programs have added at least $21.5 million to the university and the local economy.
