DECENT and SP Jain Sign MoU to Continue Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon Series in Singapore
Both companies attended an official signing ceremony on February 12, 2019, where DECENT's Founder and CEO, Matej Michalko, and Dr. John Fong, CEO and Head of the Singapore division of SP Jain, both signed the MoU. The formation of the partnership was also supported by DECENT Singapore directors, Isaiah Choo and Alan Yu, as well as several SP Jain staff members.
The MoU outlines the seventh instance of the "Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon" series. This will be the series' first trip to Southeast Asia, taking place at SP Jain's Singapore Campus grounds from May 3 to May 5, 2019. The organizing parties declare that the hackathon should appeal to young and talented developers among the school's students.
DECENT's multiple-day hackathon series has traversed the globe, impacting cities such as Bratislava, Berlin, USA's Laramie in Wyoming, Shanghai and Moscow. Each instance has delivered promising project concepts such as fashion garment tracking, event ticketing, animal protection systems, wifi advertisement, and crowdfunding platforms, all running on DECENT's DCore blockchain. The two partners plan to announce more details on the hackathon in the upcoming months, with Dr. John Fong of SP Jain elaborating:
In previous months, DECENT has been expanding its reach in Asia, solidifying its position on the Asian blockchain market. The company opened a new office in Singapore last August, inside the renowned building known as "The Octagon", focusing on business development and nationwide adoption.
In addition, a recent ranking conducted jointly by Times Higher Education and the Wall Street Journal placed SP Jain as number 4 worldwide in the One-Year MBA Degrees category, surpassing international giants like the Cranfield School of Management and Melbourne Business School. SP Jain currently has campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney.
