New Talk Radio Program Provides Self-Improvement Techniques
"A Brand New You" is the only talk-show program in Wisconsin and Facebook Live encouraging empowerment in the face of adversity.
MILWAUKEE - Feb. 21, 2019 - PRLog -- Darryll Fortune, a veteran corporate communicator, launched A Brand New You, a talk show that helps individuals think and act positively during challenging times in life. The program tackles topics from career decisions, to lifestyle, family and financial topics relevant to a wide-range of society. The program features candid discussions from and about the African-American community and is a mix of concepts similar to those offered by Chicken Soup for the Soul, Iyanla Vanzant, Deepak Chopra, Lisa Nichols and Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
"Most adults, young adults and teens have had to overcome some adversity in life," said Fortune. "A Brand New You" takes on these intrapersonal challenges, dissects them and provides feedback on how the individual and their families can move forward and improve their quality of life."
The weekly program airs on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. CST on WNOV 860 AM and W291CX 106.5 FM. WNOV is an urban adult contemporary station that targets a predominantly African-American audience in Southeast Wisconsin. The show also airs and is archived on Darryll L. Fortune Facebook Live.
"A Brand New You" guests have included prominent individuals including former Milwaukee Mayor Marvin Pratt, Gaulien Smith of Gee's Clippers, Attorney Gary George, Lisa McCants co-founder of Steppin' With the Stars, former Green Bay Packer George Koonce, author and spoken word artist Kwabena Antoine-Nixon, Dana World-Patterson, chair of the Human Trafficking Taskforce of Greater Milwaukee and several others.
"I like to think of it as Chicken Soup for the African American Soul on the radio," Fortune added "Guests share their battles with depression, divorce, breast cancer survival, isolation, financial ruin and more," said Fortune. "They have also shared how they have overcome challenges and prospered through relying on their faith and a trusted network of family and friends."
"A Brand New You" is applicable to any age, gender, race or socioeconomic status. The program transforms and meets individuals wherever they are, have been or aspire to be in their life journey. Young listeners trying to find themselves and find their way; adults who building their careers and starting families; older adults looking toward retirement and what's next in their lives and seniors helping to parent their grandchildren while suffering physical ailments and on a fixed income -- all are ripe for receiving the positive, encouraging messages delivered via "A Brand New You."
