DraftMates is turning the Super Bowl into a major fundraising event

Public and private contest surrounding one of the country's largest sporting events are now live on the platform.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jan. 28, 2019 - PRLog -- DraftMates has announced the launch of fundraising contests built around the Super Bowl on February 3, 2019. Building on the success of week-long fundraising games already live for the NFL and NBA regular season, this one-time contest format presents a new way to engage donors and rally support for 501(c)(3) organizations. Delivering on the promise to turn sports and live events into fundraising opportunities, DraftMates' Super Bowl contests represent the first opportunity for nonprofits to leverage the most viewed sporting event in the U.S. to drive donations.

Rather than "sitting out" this huge public event, nonprofits can now engage donors, and drive donations through a fun game tied to the Super Bowl.  Contest entry fees are donated to the nonprofit associated with each contest. Donors can "Donate & Play" at DraftMates.com or the DraftMates app (iOS and Android) to support their favorite cause. The one-time entry fee supports the designated nonprofit while also providing friendly competition around one of the largest and most popular sporting events in the world.

"DraftMates brings both the fun of competition through gameplay and the gratitude of supporting nonprofits to live events throughout the year. The Super Bowl is one of the best opportunities to leverage public awareness and the spotlight of this event to drive fundraising and donor engagement," said Matt Golis, Founder and CEO of DraftMates.

DraftMates also empowers individuals to raise money for their favorite 501(c)(3)s by hosting their own Super Bowl fundraising contest. As with public contests, private contests benefit verified nonprofits with a twist – instead of a predetermined nonprofit, entry fees from each private contest are donated to the winner's chosen nonprofit. Individuals can play for over 1.8 million GuideStar-verified 501(c)(3) nonprofits.

Since launching in the fall of 2018, DraftMates contests have raised money to support many important causes including the American Red Cross, JDRF, the James Cancer Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Teach for America and the Wounded Warrior Project.

How It Works

Donors will Donate & Play to support their favorite 501(c)(3) during the Super Bowl. This one-time fundraising contest, which is currently open, closes at kickoff. Play for a great cause by choosing which players will perform best on the big stage. 85% of entry fees represent a tax-deductible donation to the charity of choice (the other 15% helps DraftMates do more good in the world).

DraftMates (DraftMates, LLC) is the first fundraising platform built around sports and live events. We're on a mission to make giving fun, and help nonprofits of all shapes and sizes dent the universe. DraftMates fundraising contests are available on the web (app.draftmates.com), in the App Store (http://dmts.team/apple-app-store) (iOS) and Google Play (http://dmts.team/google-play) (Android).
