The Alumni League RELOADED - New Direction for Spring 2019

PHILADELPHIA - Dec. 29, 2018 - PRLog -- Over the past year, The Alumni League has established itself as one of Philadelphia's prestige basketball leagues, bringing back to Philadelphia, the professional, competitive spirit the city was once so well known for. The basketball league is comprised of teams of alumni from Philadelphia area high schools, harking back to the 90s, and 00s and rivalry has been fierce.

With many high profile players among the ranks, the league has drawn attention from everyone involved with basketball in the Tri-State Area. To lend context to the level of players involved, the league had among its ranks in the first two seasons, former NBA players including Flip Murray (Strawberry Mansion) and Dionte Christmas (Martin Luther King).

With Season 3 coming to a close and Season 4 due to begin in February 2019, co-founders Fahreed Cheatham and Elisa O'Keefe-Smith have decided to go their separate ways.

The Alumni League RELOADED is the next step for The Alumni League. Co-founder and the original VP, Elisa O'Keefe-Smith, is now CEO and joined by Victor O'Connor as the new Commissioner.

Newly appointed Commissioner, Victor O'Connor stated, "Basketball is my life. I am so grateful for the opportunity to join The Alumni League RELOADED as Commissioner and won't let the players down. This is a league for the players and their families and we will listen to what they have to say. The Alumni League was created with a vision to continue the rich tradition of basketball competition for players 30+ in the Philadelphia region. The Alumni League RELOADED will continue the original vision and look to expand to other East Coast cities in the next year, and nationwide in the future." O'Connor is a West Catholic alumni himself, as well as being a former college basketball player with Cabrini University (formerly Cabrini College), where he set the record for most assists in a game. He is currently assistant coach with Immaculata University.

Co-founder and CEO Elisa O'Keefe-Smith added, "I'm so excited about the original vision expanding and achieving so much. We listened to the players needs and The Alumni League RELOADED will bring lower pricing as requested in Spring 2019, while still maintaining the high standards, The Alumni League is so well-known for." Asked about her business split with Cheatham, O'Keefe-Smith responded, "While I tried to negotiate and compromise to find a solution, there was no negotiation or compromise forthcoming. The league has became a passion for me, from inception to where it is now, and I have sacrificed so much. I had no option but to move forward and find myself a new commissioner/partner to further build an amazing legacy."

O'Keefe-Smith is a Marketing major herself, holding an MBA and working towards completing a doctoral degree in 2019.  She is also creator/producer/host of ward-winning web tv talk show The Diva Docs. O'Keefe-Smith will continue to bring much of her marketing knowledge to the table with The Alumni League RELOADED.

ABOUT THE "ALUMNI LEAGUE RELOADED"

The Alumni League RELOADED is headed up by Elisa O'Keefe-Smith as CEO and Victor O'Connor as Commissioner. The league was created with a vision to continue the rich tradition of basketball competition for players 30+. There is an untapped desire amongst many players, to continue to play at a high competitive level, well into their 30s and even 40s. The Alumni League RELOADED seeks to fill and expand upon that void.
