Thomas J. Canale Named to Chicago's Notable Financial Advisor List

About Thomas J. Canale

Canale began his career within Northwestern Mutual's postgraduate internship program after graduating from Marquette University in 1995. As a wealth management adviser with the Canale Financial Group he leads a team of qualified professionals focusing on comprehensive financial planning for entrepreneurs, successful professionals, and retirees. From personal and professional experience, he is particularly passionate in serving families that have an individual with special needs.

While building a financial planning practice, he also developed and grew a team of financial professionals. He was appointed managing director in 2004. He then opened a new office in Rosemont with nine advisers and associates. Canale now leads a team of 53 financial advisers, representatives, college interns and associates.

Canale has achieved the Certified Financial Planner certification along with the Chartered Special Needs Consultant, Chartered Financial Consultant, and Certified Life Underwriter professional designations. To help others, he has been an instructor since 2013 in the Certified Financial Planner certificate program at Northwestern University's School of Professional Studies.

Canale is a supporter of the Northwestern Mutual – Chicago Childhood Cancer Impact program, where he has worked to raise funds, awareness and volunteer for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. He is also a past recipient of the Northwestern Mutual Community Service Award for his involvement with Envision Unlimited, a non-profit focused on serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Canale is a graduate of Marquette University, and he currently resides in Elmhurst with his wife and two sons.
