SAN FRANCISCO - Nov. 26, 2018 - PRLog -- Bay Area real estate veteran, Christopher Meany will be this year's honoree at the 14th Annual Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner held by the San Francisco Bay Area Council of the Boy Scouts. (http://www.sfbac.org/)

Mr. Meany is a Managing Partner of San Francisco-based Wilson Meany (http://wilsonmeany.com/about-us/), a developer of mixed-use, residential, retail, office and master plan urban infill properties in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The award dinner will be held Wednesday, December 5 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Proceeds from the dinner will support the SFBAC's Character Development and Leadership Training programs that specifically benefit local "at risk" youth.  Dr. Renel Brooks-Moon, announcer for the San Francisco Giants, will be the Emcee for the evening.

Mr. Meany has been executing innovative urban infill developments in California since 1985. Among his landmark projects are the Ferry Building, Flood Building, One Powell, 140 New Montgomery in San Francisco, and Broadway Pointe in Walnut Creek. He has also developed a number of high density residential projects in the Bay Area.  Presently, he leads the redevelopment of Bay Meadows in San Mateo, Hollywood Park in Inglewood, and co-manages (with Lennar) the redevelopment of Treasure Island in San Francisco.  He is also an Eagle Scout.

"It is an honor to be recognized by the Bay Area business community at this wonderful event that benefits other scouts, like myself," said Meany.

In recent months, the Boy Scouts of America have made history by offering iconic "Family Scouting (https://cubscouts.org/now-everyone-in-this-family-is-a-sc...)" programs to both boys and girls for the convenience of the entire family. The Gala Committee has also been continually focused on supporting local families and communities by providing educational programs that focus on developing leadership skills and building personal character.  As a result, over a thousand youth are gifted time at camp (http://www.sfbac.org/camping/boy-scout-camping/exploratio...) to have experiences outside of their urban neighborhoods.
