CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Nov. 26, 2018 - PRLog -- In Benny Moon Eats Dirt, the sequel to Benny Moon: Racing the Medicine Wheel, author Salem Wolf Heart once again brings young readers insight into the worlds of motocross racing and Native American wisdom.

After making it to a national racing competition, Benny Moon is disqualified from because of a fight with bully Rick Skye. Benny Moon turns to Grandpa T for wisdom and together, grandfather and grandson embark on a vision quest. Benny reconnects with his animal spirits and meets an unexpected new friend.

This story will resonate with kids struggling with working parents, peer pressure, competition and disappointment. This series appeals to readers ages 8-12 with action and mystery, but also layers in tools based on ancient wisdom that can help pre-teens find positive ways of dealing with daily problems.

"Benny Moon is a character that I hope kids will be able to relate to," says Salem, author of Benny Moon: Racing the Medicine Wheel and Benny Moon Eats Dirt. "And he struggles with things many kids deal with, like one-parent homes or a parent who is away for long periods of times."

For Salem, a Reiki master and Shamanic practitioner, the concept of the Native American Medicine Wheel is vitally important. When she realized a lack of education surrounding the topic, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

"When I went to look for books for young people that helped explain this sacred practice, I found nothing. So, I created it myself," says Salem.

Benny Moon Eats Dirt is distributed by Ingram Content Group and is now available in print and e-Book formats. Book one in the Benny Moon series, Benny Moon: Racing the Medicine Wheel, is also available in print and e-Book.
