PRLog -- Montessori ONE Academy students will gather at Albuquerque's downtown train station on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, to hand out meals, pet food, and personal care kits to Albuquerque's homeless during lunchtime.
The school's students, teachers, and administrators spend the morning assembling sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. They also prepare pet food packets and personal care kits with items like combs, dry shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Even the preschool's youngest students, some not even two years old, get in on the action. Parents also take part through assembly and donations.
It's the third year Montessori ONE Academy has performed this philanthropic service. During the inaugural year, Governor-elect Lujan-Grisham, then U.S. Representative, and her team attended to help the students assemble meals.
"Giving to our city's homeless has become a happy tradition for the Montessori ONE community. When the school began brainstorming how to give back during the holiday season, I suggested feeding the homeless. The children took it from there. Their enthusiasm ensured we incorporated ideas like the hygiene kits and pet food." – Tina Patel, Founder/Director of Montessori ONE Academy
Montessori ONE (
