SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - Oct. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Rusty the Forgotten Fire Engine written by Joe Fisher and illustrated by Jaye Boswell has been selected as an Indie Book Worth Discovering by the prestigious Kirkus Reviews.  The award recognizes books rated in the top 10% of all indie books reviewed positively by Kirkus Reviews during the year.

Rusty the Forgotten Fire Engine tells the story of a fire engine and the fireman and boy who love him.  Appropriate for audiences 4-to-8 years old, the story chronicles Rusty's journey from hero to outcast and back again.

The lighthearted and multi-layered story, richly told, and whimsically illustrated appeals to children and adults alike.  According to the review.

"Fisher's prose invites empathy, as does illustrator Boswell's understated suggestion of a face in Rusty's grille and headlights."

The surprise ending brings the tale to a heart-warming and satisfying conclusion that reveals all things have hidden value waiting to be released.  Rusty the Forgotten Fire Engine is a classic story of love, loss, transformation and redemption.  The reviewer concludes:

"The author's observations on the fickleness of fame come through with appropriate humor and warmth."

Jaye Boswell is a resident of Sanibel Island, Fl.  For 22 years she was an award-winning art teacher in the Lee County and Sanibel Schools.  One of her class projects grew into the nationally acclaimed Junior Duck Stamp competition held annual at the J.
