VRBO Allows Thieves To Access Your Home Then Doesn't Pay!

Anyone with a stolen credit card can sign up on VRBO, rent your house and burglarize you and VRBO knowingly allows this making them negligent for a class-action lawsuit.

LAS VEGAS - Oct. 2, 2018 - PRLog -- We, like many thought we could make a little extra cash and rent out our house with VRBO unfortunately we ended up getting robbed for over $16,000 worth of property by our first renters and have been told we're not even going to get the rental fee as it's from a stolen credit card.

The way it works, VRBO takes a payment from a credit card then allows that person to start using their service of renting properties so basically anyone with a stolen card can immediately gain access to your home and rob you, which is what happened to us. VRBO is quick to contact us helping to set up our listing as fast as possible and even quicker when it comes to denying any fault or responsibility in their allowing thieves into your home.

As it turns out, we are not the first to be robbed by renters approved by VRBO and after looking online, it turns out this trend is more epidemic than fluke thus making VRBO negligent in allowing this behavior to continue.  This is the basis for a class-action lawsuit against them.  They are fully aware of the ongoing problem and have refused to take action to eliminate it.  I was even told by one of the representatives this is a "huge, escalating problem that we really should have a better vetting system in place."

We've been passed around to different departments and after my 7thphone call, which was "escalated" and then forwarded to the Resolutions Department I was told that they are not going to pay us our rental fee as the charge was reversed and they are not liable.  She actually told me, "You should be more careful who you rent your home to." Maybe if VRBO would do a better process in validating someone's ID, people would not be getting robbed on a regular basis.

In summary, VRBO couldn't care less about you, your property or pretty much anything but their cut of the pie so we are going to social media, news organizations and our attorneys to warn others.
