Rotary Foundation Receives 100% Rating on Charity Navigator for the 10th Year in a Row

PALM COAST, Fla. - Aug. 27, 2018 - PRLog -- For the 10th consecutive year, The Rotary Foundation has received the highest rating - four stars - from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S.

In the most recent ratings, the Foundation earned the maximum of 100 points for demonstrating both strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.

The Rotary Foundation has a earned the coveted 100% rating at Charity Navigator.  There are precious few charities--less than 1% of all charities--that achieve that rating.

Here's what Charity Navigator states about the 100% club: "The exceptional charities on this list execute their missions in a fiscally responsible way while adhering to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities. Each has earned perfect scores for its financial health and its accountability and transparency. Those two scores then translate into a perfect 100 point overall score. Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator have earned perfect scores."

Couple that with the fact that we Rotarians work with other Rotarians to leverage the foundation money with volunteers, and with oversight of on-site Rotarians who assure that our money is spent effectively to meet local needs, and you have money that is spent more effectively than almost any other charity.

Rotary members go to Rotary for fellowship, fun and service, but when the organization wants to leverage those efforts with the help of the foundation, the results are phenomenal.

In a letter to the Foundation, Charity Navigator notes that "only 1 percent of the charities we evaluate have received at least 10 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that The Rotary Foundation outperforms other charities in America. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets The Rotary Foundation apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness."

The rating reflects Charity Navigator's assessment of how the Foundation uses donations, sustains its programs and services, and practices good governance and openness.
