LOS ANGELES - Aug. 24, 2018 - PRLog -- Sam Ovens Reviews - Getting Hot About Sam Ovens?
Before you dive into Sam Ovens's consulting training read this...

If you are reading these words no doubt you are looking into purchasing Sam Ovens' consulting training.

Sam originally had a $6,000 dollar course and then recently created a $2,000 dollar version ($1,995).

But this article is meant to (hopefully) get you to think through a couple of important points before you purchase his, or any other such course.

As I write these words it is 4:19 am (EST).

When you are an entrepreneur sacrifices are often made and sleep is usually a prime target - just not enough hours in the day. (Don't worry I will take a "power nap" later).

But I digress...

The task that I, and my virtual team, have is to stay on top of the trending topics and new methods that help entrepreneurs, bootstrappers, and freelancers add more income streams to their lifestyle.

The biggest mistake that many of them make is jumping on some hot software (i.e., funnels) or training method (coaching) in an effort to increase cash flow without knowing if their offer even converts (get enough sales).

Many of our members had a list of failed methods (shiny objects) strewn behind them like a trail of dead bodies. Money spent, time wasted, and hopes dashed.

Now $2,000 or even $6,000 may not be a lot of money to you. But many new entrepreneurs will have a hard time with such a purchase. And it is often the newbie home business owner that is attracted to these offers.

But it gets harder and here's why.

Let's take Facebook ads for example. Anyone who has been advertising on Facebook for the last 5 years will tell you that the ads have gotten more expensive.

Supply and demand.

That means that the rosy metrics that sales videos give you about advertising there will be inflated. Not that they are lying (necessarily) it's just that they have already wasted thousands of dollars testing to get where they are now. Which, unfortunately, is probably not where you are!

In an interview on YouTube Sam Ovens rolls out a Facebook sales funnel example where he uses the fabled 10% response rate. This scenario reveals that it would cost $30 per survey.

Ten people going through this survey will cost you $300. But that is his funnel after he has spent years testing and failing on telephone sales pitches.

What if you only get a 1% response rate? After spending the thousands of dollars upfront to place the initial ad (tip of the funnel) you will be closer to a $3,000 dollar spend on your survey.

This begs the real question; are you comfortable selling over the phone?
Back when I was in Government Contracting the rage was "Train the Trainer" programs. And DOD, for example, paid lots of money for them.
Much of it had to do with HR issues like sexual harassment, diversity, and communication workshops. Which, ten years later, are still pretty hot topics.

In the interview, Sam also reveals that he initially started using his methods developing and selling a property inspection software package (called SnapInspect) which he later sold.

He eventually determined that it would be cheaper to 'sell humans' instead of software.

Sam mentioned the millions he was making and also revealed that Tai Lopez (yes, Mr. "Here in my garage...") was responsible for generating much of that money for him, as an affiliate.

"So, Mike what's your point?"

Yeah, sorry - it's early and I sometimes ramble.
Your biggest takeaway from this article should probably be to make certain that the "thing" (product or service) that you are selling actually converts before you pony up the money for one of these expensive programs (software, coaching, or otherwise).

The Analog Funnel
An analog funnel is a term I coined to refer to a simple method for testing offers. Unlike PPC or Facebook, it has a flat fee and you target a much less noisy marketplace.

What I am about to say will be considered heresy but you can take out inexpensive ads in newspapers and test your offer.

(Yes, newspapers are still around and business owners still make money from them).

These analog funnels have been working for over 50 years!

Find your local community newspaper and run an ad that has a phone number. You can purchase an inexpensive, flat fee, voicemail number for less than $10 bucks a month.
