MEDFORD, Ore. - Aug. 2, 2018 - PRLog -- The little things should be celebrated as much as possible. It may be easy to overlook the little things and focus more on the big picture, treating yourself and your loved ones to smaller celebrations makes the little ones that much more important and special.  Every day should be fun and celebrated, so round up the kiddos and mark the calendar: it's time to observe some of our more obscure holidays.  Here are some to consider for August in the Rogue Valley:

August 3: National Watermelon Day
August 6: Sister's Day
August 9: Book Lovers Day

August 10: National S'mores Day

August 10th is all about a campfire favorite. Break out the Hershey's, mallows, and graham crackers, and set up the bonfire, oops no, not in Southern Oregon during fire season.  If you don't have an outdoor bonfire, try ordering your Smores Cookies from Spoons available every Monday.  Order early so you will have them for the holiday to take them with you on the camping trip.

August 11: Son and Daughter Day
August 15: Relaxation Day
August 19: National Honey Bee Awareness Day
August 22: Be an Angel Day
August 26: National Dog Day
August 31: National Eat Outside Day

What better day for a picnic or barbecue than August 31.  Call in your favorite meal at Spoons, and head outdoors.  Spoons Central Point offers picnic tables to do just that! The entire family is sure to appreciate some quality time in the outdoors together.

Spoons specializes in fresh, local, non-GMO dishes.  Daily Vegan and non-Vegan soups, salads that are unique to them, gluten-free breads and noshes that are sometimes hard to find; as well as a number of meat-based dishes and sides like some of the incredible hearty meat stews and loaded baked potatoes.

Spoons offers customers thirty different soups, in a two-week rotation, throughout the winter months. In the summer, five lively chilled soups are added to the mix. A typical lunch includes: a soup-of-the-day paired with a unique and beautifully constructed salad; one of several homemade gluten-free breads; a couple of "noshes," and the option to add a really big, "pounder potato," filled with Vegan or non-Vegan toppings.  The menu changes from day-to-day.  Daily menus for both locations are posted on the restaurant's Facebook pages.

Saturday soups change depending upon what's left in the fridge.  Chef, Merrie Bechtold, creates a new menu every Saturday at the Central Point location.  Chilled soups are served individually or with an entrĂ©e.  Spoons is open from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday-through-Friday - or, until the soup is gone.  Central Point location is also opened from noon to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and offers entrees, casseroles, desserts and other nutritional fare.
