NEW YORK - July 15, 2018 - PRLog -- J.W. Farrell: is a solo artist based out of New York City. Born and raised in Bucks County in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Farrell began forming bands with his friends as soon as he started learning guitar, much to the annoyance of anyone within ear shot. During his college years, he joined the NYC based pop rock group La La Lush. After two records, a sold out show at the Bowery Ballroom, and a US tour culminating in an appearance at SXSW, the band took a permanent hiatus in 2015. During this time, J.W. Farrell began to develop his sound as a solo singer-songwriter. While hibernating in Alexandria, Virginia, he wrote and recorded his debut EP. Taking notes from some of his songwriting heroes, Hamilton Leithauser, Bruce Springsteen and John J. McCauley as well as the sonic influence of some of his favorite bands, The Walkmen, The Band, Deer Tick and The Gaslight Anthem, Farrell has created a captivating blend of Americana, new wave and rock.

"Alexandria EP" was released June 20, 2016 at NYC's Arlene's Grocery, accompanied by a music video for the first single "Alexandria."

In the summer of 2017, J.W. Farrell embarked on his "Little Words" Tour as a solo acoustic act, making stops in Roanoke VA, Johnson City TN, Nashville TN and Philadelphia PA.  During this time Farrell recorded his first live album at Belcourt Taps in Nashville, TN.  Released on November 10, 2017 as "Live at Belcourt Taps" this five song collection features stripped down versions of his earliest songs, accompanied with lead guitar by Chuck Haegel of The Tommy Roberts and Teeth.

Farrell entered the studio last Winter to record his first full length LP and is touring through the Northeast throughout the next few months.
