DUBLIN - June 25, 2018 - PRLog -- Friends of Irish rock legend Phil Lynott have launched a campaign to have a park in the Crumlin area of Dublin renamed Philip Lynott Green, in memory of the Thin Lizzy frontman who died in 1986 at the age of 36.

The initiative, which has already gained the support of prominent Irish musicians and friends of the late singer-musician - including Smiley Bolger and Hugo McGuinness (organisers of the annual "Vibe for Philo" festival), journalist Dermott Hayes, singer Bree Harris and others –
calls for a green area known locally as Bangor circle to be renamed Philip Lynott Green. Lynott grew up on nearby Leighlin Road.

An online petition has been launched to allow members of the public to register their support for the proposal.

The campaign, which is being spearheaded by Zak Martin, a friend of Lynott's who also grew up in Crumlin, aims to recognize the rock star "who was proud of his Crumlin roots".
