Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger LLP Recognized as a Best Firm for Minority Attorneys
California labor and employment law firm ranked nationally among the top 10 based on size by Law360
Across the legal field as an industry average, minorities make up 21 percent of non-partners and eight percent of equity partners, according to Law360's "Best Law Firms for Minority Attorneys" report on June 17, 2018. In contrast, 50 percent of CDF non-partner attorneys are minorities, while 32 percent of all CDF attorneys are minorities, and one-third of CDF's equity partner management committee is minority or female. Moreover, women and minorities account for more than 60 percent of the firm's total number of attorneys.
"Being listed on Law360's Glass Ceiling Report as a best law firm for female attorneys, and now for minority attorneys, exemplifies CDF's ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, not just for today, but for the future of our firm, our clients, our communities, and the legal field," said Marie DiSante, CDF founding partner and firm managing partner. "Within our firm, this means working in a diverse environment that reflects the communities and employers we represent, mirroring the values of today's workforces and bridging the gap to become true business partners with our clients."
For the annual Glass Ceiling Report, Law360 surveyed more than 300 U.S. firms about their demographics as of Dec. 31, 2017. To make the prestigious list, Law360 grouped firms based on U.S. attorney headcount. Firms with below-average in their group in any of the following categories were deemed ineligible for the ranking: 1) percentage of minority attorneys, 2) percentage of minority non-partners, 3) percentage of minority partners, both equity and non-equity, and 4) percentage of minority equity partners. The remaining firms were ranked using a formula that equally weights the percentage of non-partners and percentage of total non-partners who are minorities.
Diversity and inclusion have been the bedrock of CDF since its inception in 1994. To this day, the firm remains committed to maintaining the ingrained value of inclusion. For more than two decades, CDF has focused on the recruitment, development and retention of the best and brightest from all walks of life and backgrounds to support growth and serve the needs of diverse clients.
