KOLLAM, India - June 7, 2018 - PRLog -- #BookBucketChallenge app is launched by Kerala NGO "One Library Per Village" to help users locate nearest local library and assist in creating a virtual community around Library. This app also helps users to download thousands of e-books and also helps in getting reviews of good books. Readers can also create their reading bucket list and exchange it with other readers.

The App was inaugurated by Mr. Osama Manzar, the Founder and Director of "Digital Empowerment Foundation" in the Award ceremony "Social Media for Empowerment" for SAARC nations which held in Eros Hotel, New Delhi on May 23rd. #BookBucketChallenge App can be freely downloaded from Google play store or from www.bookbucketchallenge.com / http://www.olpv.org

Osama Manzar said "Social Media and the global community provides the opportunity for people to build a business or build something for their community. Technology is the equalizer for the marginalized. Social media and App may empower people in a way that it gives a platform to communicate perceptions, views, thoughts, ideas, feelings, emotions in a simple or artistic way".

"Libraries have played a very important role in collecting and disseminating knowledge among the public for a very long time. But recent overflow of television channels and digital media stopped people from visiting Libraries. "One Library Per Village's" vision is to convert Libraries into collaborative learning centers for all age groups. #BookBucketChallenge App will help users to locate nearest local Library and make them to be part of it by providing virtual membership. It's a Location-Based Social Networking platform for sharing Knowledge" said Sujai G Pillai the founder of this non-profit organization.

Big publishing houses have already stopped printing hard copies of many classic books and our next generation is not going to see many good books. But many houses have good quality books collected by bibliophiles which are not used by current generation and are getting destroyed. This Apps is also having an option to collect these books from these houses and preserve them properly in Local Library for our next generation. #SaveLibrary campaign of "One Library Per Village" collected 3 lakhs books from public and donated to Chennai Library to compensate the loss of 5 Lakhs books due to Chennai Floods in 2015.

The architect and CTO of firm Mr. Arjith K G confident that this App will be highly useful for students and those who are preparing for competitive exams, as this app helps to create collaborative learning groups in their local area and exchange educational materials through Libraries. More useful features, like educational-networking, donating/selling books, teaching online, knowledge-based discussion, etc will be added soon after getting feedback from users and Libraries. Currently, addresses of more than 70,000 Indian Libraries are listed in the App.
