HERTFORD, U.K. - May 11, 2018 - PRLog -- They are looking for nominations for The Rural Living Awards, so if you know of a community project, environmental project, individual, young person or a business that has contributed to your local community, please nominate them by the end of May.

Richard Bullen, Chairman of CPRE Hertfordshire, has been impressed by the projects that have entered the awards in the past. "It's amazing how much is going on. People are quietly getting on with helping their rural community and countryside, so we want to celebrate them and give these hard-working heroes a presence. We invite the mayor and local councillors from all the boroughs that have had nominations to the finals, and they're genuinely delighted to find out about what people are doing in their area and are more than happy to support them going forward."

You've got until the end of the month to enter, and CPRE wants to hear about the work for as many individuals and projects as possible. If you think you, a group you volunteer with, or an individual doing incredible work deserves public recognition, visit the Rural Living Awards page on www.cpreherts.org.uk to download a nomination form.

There are five awards in total:

• Community Project
• Environmental Project
• The Dorothy Abel Smith Award for a young person under the age of 21 who has made an outstanding contribution to Rural Life.
• The Peterkin Award for an adult who has made an outstanding contribution to Rural Life.
• Rural Business in the Community Award for any kind of business that has made an outstanding contribution to Community Life in Hertfordshire.

Projects will be assessed by a panel of judges and the results announced at an Awards Evening to be held at County Hall in October. Previous award winners include Redbournbury Watermill and Bakery, Cottered Voices, Thrift Cottage Eco House and Smallholding, French & Jupps Maltsters, Redbourn Care Group and Ver Valley Society Action Group.
