Nokomis is Selected to Improve EO/IR Seeker Windows Withstand Thermal Shock

PITTSBURGH - May 7, 2018 - PRLog -- The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) seeks innovative electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) seeker windows capable of surviving and performing in endo-atmospheric interceptor environments characterized by high heating rates, temperatures, and accelerations.   Improved EO/IR seeker windows would enable higher performing interceptors to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends against potential enemy missile attacks.  Nokomis has been awarded a $ 99,992.44 contract to create a multiphasic spinel-based window solution that is specifically engineered to withstand thermal shock while optimizing EO/IR performance.

"Missile defense is critically important to the United States.  Countries like North Korea have widened the breadth of the ballistic missile threat.  Nokomis is excited to have been selected to develop improved EO/IR seeker windows to assist the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in its mission." Walter J. Keller, Chief Executive Officer, Nokomis Inc.
