Leedz Edutainment - Eastern Standard (Compilation Album)

BOSTON - May 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Leedz Edutainment has grown into an impeccable, unparalleled platform for Hip-Hop artists who either reside in or come through Boston. Over the years, CEO Ned Wellbery has worked painstakingly to showcase artists on stage and in the studio, with the latter coming in the form of acclaimed mixtapes and compilations. And to say Leedz has its strongest showing yet with Eastern Standard would be a massive understatement. The compilation is absolutely loaded with bangers, and as the title suggests, not only sets the standard, but raises the bar for projects of this caliber that showcase such a broad brushstroke of content and talent.

Wellbery made sure of that by setting out to do something different with ES. "I wanted to have artists from all the eastern standard time zone states, coming together under one cohesive sound/theme," he explains. "I always loved compilations that did that like 'Soul In The Hole,' 'Belly,' and 'Judgment Night.' It seems to be a dying artform these days."

Leedz breathes plenty of life back into the approach with 21 tracks that highlight some of the finest artists from the EST area, all of whom are guided by the incredible production talents of The Arcitype. The result is a cohesive, grounded listening experience that also treads into varying realms under the Hip-Hop umbrella. Nerd-core kingpin Mega Ran flexes his muscles on the hard-hitting opening track, "The East Coast," while the album's debut leak, "The Motions" is a crash course in lyricism, with blistering rhymes courtesy of Rite Hook and Chris Rivers, the former of which lends his pen game for a compelling hook about rising above the industry snakes and staying true to yourself and your artistry. Just a few tracks later, though, Cam Meekins, Sap, and Michael Christmas are on the braggadocio tip on "Never Lived It,"while Copywrite gets super-creative with "Izzy Dead."
