LONDON - May 3, 2018 - PRLog -- The UK and Europe are seeing a huge spike of merger and acquisition transactions among cloud services companies, telecoms infrastructure providers and datacentre operators, as international buyers jostle for position, with the sector ripe for consolidation, according to leading specialist news and events provider TMT Finance.

Ben Nice, Managing Editor at TMT Finance said: "We are reporting on a whole host of deals in the datacentre and cloud space, with the UK and Europe at the heart of this activity globally. US firm GTT Communications agreed to acquire British fibre and cloud-services operator Interoute for almost two billion euros in April, demonstrating the appetite from international buyers for the right assets," he said.

"Other companies on our radar at the moment are: UK IT and telecom services group Daisy, valued at around £1.2bn; Dutch cloud services firm Expereo valued at E250m; French group Data4, valued at around E650m; Dutch cloud networking firm Infradata valued at E350m; Abry Partners-owned Nordic hosting company Basefarm, and UK managed services provider GCI Com valued at £200m," Nice commented.

To discuss the next wave of dealmaking in the cloud, hosting and datacentre segment, Olivier Wolf, TMT-Transaction Advisory Services Leader, EY, will chair a dedicated leadership panel on Enterprise Cloud at TMT M&A Forum 2018 which takes place on May 22-23 in London. The panellists are: Alexandre Morel, SVP Corporate Strategy, OVH; Ralph Choufani, Principal, Abry Partners; Lee James, CTO EMEA, Rackspace; Chris McKee, General Counsel and EVP, Corporate Development, GTT; and David Howson, CEO, Six Degrees Group.

Leading global consultancy firm EY will also deliver a Visionary Keynote on the topic of Enterprise Cloud at TMT M&A Forum 2018. The event gathers a maximum of 350 senior executives, investors and advisers active in European and global M&A and investment in the telecom, media and tech sectors.
