Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to Host Strategic Planning Workshop Series
A strong state and national economy has fueled a boom in sales for many Michigan manufacturers. Facilities are busier, more productive and more prosperous than they have been in years, resulting in an overall positive industry outlook. However, most manufacturers are held back from achieving their full potential due to insufficient strategic planning. Without a strong understanding of profitability, or metrics in place to monitor and evaluate business operations, companies are incapable of improving results and find their profits stagnant. To close this gap in success, The Center has developed a strategic planning workshop series to help manufacturers reach higher profits and efficiency.
"Poor strategic planning can be detrimental to an organization,"
The Center's strategic planning workshops will take place monthly, May through August. Manufacturing leaders and executives can learn valuable skills from each of these workshops, which cover a variety of topics including profitability, overtime, market awareness and business metrics. Experts from The Center will host these free workshops with the goal of enhancing the strategic planning skills of manufacturing executives, while further supporting growth in Michigan manufacturing.
All workshops will be held at The Center's Plymouth location, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. The upcoming schedule of workshops is as follows:
· May 15 – Make the Bottom Line Your Top Priority - Are your profits down despite soaring revenue? Explore the options manufacturers have in assessing their current finances to make sure this doesn't happen.
· June 20 – Is Overtime Overtaking Your Business? - Learn how your company can get back on track and on schedule, while still keeping up with demand.
· July 25 – Lead Your Company to the Top - To reach their full potential, businesses must have a strong awareness of the market in which they operate. Learn how to determine how well you are performing in comparison to competitors.
· August 16 – Measuring the Effectiveness of Goals with Metrics - Gain tips on how to better assess your company's performance, establish relevant business metrics and prevent more goals from being missed in the future.
