Read Veneers is a leading wood veneer company based in Essex offering a nationwide service in the production of wood veneer panels and doors. Their recent acquisition of a Masterwood CNC Project has considerably expanded their capabilities.

Seeking to meet the increasing demands of their customers and with an upsurge in demand for a wider variety of machining capabilities, in particular from fit-out specialists and cabinet and furniture makers, Read Veneers decided to make the decision to invest in Italian company Masterwood's Project 265 CNC machine.
As a result of introducing the Project 265, Read Veneers is now able to present a much enhanced offering to its clients.
Managing director Paul Read explains, "The machine allows both horizontal and vertical drilling; it has a vertical router and can take stack tooling up to 250mm diameter, which means we can now offer full machining of traditional mortise and tenon joints.
"The machine offers vastly improved performance in comparison to our previous CNC; in particular the cut in the Y-axis is greater, which is essential in door production: a key element of our work. Other features of the machine, such as a laser positioning system, mean speed and accuracy are also much enhanced."
The Masterwood CNC Project 265 comes complete with a new version of the long established CAD/CAM software, Master 3D. A full management solution for wood and similar materials, Master 3D offers a swift and simple way for Read Veneers to work directly with designs for timber and panel components using a numerically controlled machining system.
MasterDOOR is a powerful program designed specifically for the production of all types of doors.
"Using MasterDOOR we are now able to machine and produce full door sets including frames, locks, handles and hinges, ideal for our clients in the fit-out and cabinet making sectors," says Paul.
Existing clients of Read Veneers and those seeking a new veneer woodworking specialist to support production needs can rest assured the company is in an even stronger position now to be of service. Paul reassures, "We have more than 25 years' experience in the industry; our machinery and capabilities are extensive and the Masterwood CNC Project 265 will only prove to bolster this offering," he says.
The Read Veneers service is offered nationwide and is capable of handling substantial projects such as hotel chain fit-outs. Read Veneers has been involved in producing veneered panels and woodworking for exclusive venues such as London's O2, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Cambridge University and also works closely with a variety of high-end furniture makers.
