PRLog -- As part of Elder American's Month, memory disorder expert Marc Agronin, M.D., will talk about his new book "The End of Old Age: Living a Longer, More Purposeful Life" at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, in the Bienes Museum's Ceremonial Room at the Broward County Main Library, 100 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Through his work Miami Jewish Health, Dr. Agronin gets to see seniors at all health levels and is at the forefront of what works and what doesn't in geriatric healthcare. All the latest scientific research combined with Dr. Agronin's first-hand experience can be distilled into a simple and yet unheard-of formula: age is the solution and not the problem for many late-life changes and challenges. This approach stops looking at aging as an implacable enemy, but casts it instead as a potential developmental force for enhancing well-being, meaning, and longevity.
An internationally recognized geriatric psychiatrist and author of numerous books, including
"How We Age," Dr. Agronin is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal "The Experts" (
http://www.wsj.com/articles/baby-boomers-relax-it-probabl...) blog. In his books, he addresses the scientific, medical and human side of aging through the stories and lives of his patients. He is vice president for behavior health and clinical research at Miami Jewish Health, where he also is founder of the Memory Center. Visit
