Maapera Analytics Awarded Grant
Alberta Innovates Technology Futures Voucher Awarded to Maapera Analytics Inc.
The Voucher program is designed to support technologies in the mid-to-late developmental stages but may include some early developmental stages. The Voucher is intended to fund the SME to work in collaboration with up to three Service or Product Providers to advance the technology closer to commercialization.
Alberta Innovates' Investment to a successful Applicant is within the range of $10,001 to $100,000, which is paid directly to the Service or Product Provider(s) named in the application. The funds are provided to cover eligible expenses incurred by the Service or Product Provider(s) during the course of any one or more of the following activities:
• New product research and development;
• Leading-edge design, engineering and prototype development;
• Advanced product testing and refinement;
• Patent development;
• Advanced market assessments;
• Other technology development activities may be considered on a case by case basis.
The Voucher awarded to Maapera is for roughly 75,000$ and the funds will be used to help Maapera collect a larger number of samples through collaboration with Thurber Engineering, Tetra Tech and Kaizen Lab.
By partnering with the above firms we will be able to gather many more samples to build our library than we would have alone. In addition, we will be further developing our relationship with Thurber and Tetra Tech while adding significant value to our business.
The underlying technology Maapera has developed improves significantly with additional samples being included in the reference library. While Maapera has moved in to the commercialization phase we are dedicated to continuing to improve the system and services we provide with value added R&D.
Maapera is an Environmental Services Company that is combining Advanced Spectroscopy Sensing Tools with Proprietary Machine Learning Based Analysis and Automated Visualization to improve the soil analysis and remediation activities around the world
