Follow on Google News | International artist & landscape architect Eddie Botha to develop vision for Fawkner nature parkBy: Fawkner Residents Association "The submissions that were received from throughout Moreland and neighbouring municipalities was outstanding. Furthermore, they were a reflection of the grassroots concern of local residents and Melbournians to safeguard precious open space adjacent to the waterway", said FoMC President David Redfearn. Eddie Botha is a talented artist with artwork that is a reflection of his surroundings, ranging from urban community-based issues to his deep commitment to the environment and nature. Eddie is also a Fawkner resident and passionate advocate for ensuring the Merri Creek's natural habitat remains as an oasis of enjoyment for current and future generations. In addition to his highly regarded art, Eddie is an accomplished landscape architect and has worked on many overseas projects in cities including Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. "Our objective now is to review the suggestions and work with Eddie to incorporate them into a high-level vision that reflects the community's aspirations for the nature park", said FRA's Joe Perri. Both FoMC and FRA were pleased to learn of that the State Government has reoffered park to Moreland. The two groups hope to present the community vision to the state government through Moreland Council in the coming weeks.
