It's now raging on Twitter as Barrett fans ignore the facts and pretend that he's been falsely accused of being something he's not because of the character he plays. Nothing could be further from the truth... "I'm actually laughing at these idiots because all you have to do is the read article and it's clear that Barrett is saying that he knows so much about the science of time travel that he can tell fans when they're wrong. The thing is, I've never heard a more incoherent prattle of wrong facts in my life". So says Marshall Barnes who actually works on time travel physics theories and has proved that parallel universes from quantum theory are real, among many other things. Which makes the cat calls from Barrett fans even more bizarre. If Marshall really was a "nutter" as one fan claimed, he wouldn't have the track record he does - successful presentations at major space science conferences including the 2013 and 2014 100 Year Starship Symposiums, a contributor to a poster presentation for the 2014 International Astronautical Federation Conference in Toronto Canada, and the only person that challenged Stephen Hawking's public bet against the Higgs Boson in 2008. But Marshall takes a prosaic look at it. "I caught Malcolm lying to make himself look good. I called him on it. He lied again, trying to make it appear that I was confusing him with his character, Rufus from the show. I wasn't. If anyone is confused, it's Barrett - not knowing fantasy from fact and truth from falsehoods. And the bottom line is he's a two bit actor on a show that I predicted would get cancelled, was canceled but then brought back for like, half a season and will get cancelled again for a final time if they don't fix the things I cited. There is an ignorant contingent out there that doesn't care about time travel but yet insists on talking about it. They talk about it as if they know what they're talking about and it confuses people who read it. The truth is that physicists don't help - most contribute to the confusion by referring to solutions from General Relativity as if they apply to real time travel science when they don't.They're just solutions to equations from General Relativity which isn't about supporting time travel, but until 1988, physicists were afraid to even mention the subject, which shows how pathetic our science community can be."
