FEATHERTOP the Animated Film Announced by Crashdown Studio

SHANGHAI - Feb. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Legendary animator Pierre De Celles will direct Crashdown Studio's FEATHERTOP is an animated drama to follow closely on Nathaniel Hawthorne's classic tale about a witch who builds a scarecrow who comes to life, "Feathertop" is a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne, first published in 1852. "The moral tale uses a metaphoric scarecrow named Feathertop and its adventure about human character and the myth of the Salem Witch trials, as well a peak into old Salem, Massachusetts.

He is a distinguished veteran of Feature Animation who worked in animation for more than 30 years and is considered one of the most important creative forces in contemporary animation. In his work, he brought to many the most beloved characters, such as "Sonic the Hedgehog", the characters in the popular TV show "GEM", and "Snorks", as well as darker characters like "Duchess Dire", "Reaper" and "Overlord". He influenced the more realistic cartoon character animations in the 1980s and has a cult following within the animation market that is non-anime. His career has been both dynamic and prestigious with many productions, he went to form Crashdown Studio as a way to turn-key projects using classic animation techniques.

In FEATHERTOP, Pierre will bring classic animation artistry and experience to this modern-day retelling of the classic American tale. "This will be Crashdown Studio's first feature film", Tim continues: "As a small studio, it is actually non-traditional that we financed the project ourselves but because of our business and work flow, we were able to develop 120 mins last year and weren't bothered by any big studio politics, we are free to explore a feature film development work cycle instead of split projects.   All we need to do is develop our market and fan base to share with."

He continues "The content and drama in this project will be classical animation form has not been done in such a long time. It should feel very fresh to the audience." As the team is thrilled to announce this feature with the creative style of Pierre De Celles, who is one of the most creative and visionary artists working in the animation industry to date, it will be produced in Shanghai, China. Right next to Dreamworks Orient, now called "Pearl Studio", where Glen Keane will be making their feature film.
