AUGUSTA, Ga. - Feb. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- Global Entertainment Technology, Inc., ("GET"), a Wyoming C corporation, has announced initial programming development of My Way – a lounge music concept for weekend short form programming.

GET CEO, Dain L. Schult
, remarked, "While we thought we had rounded out pretty much all of the upper demo short form weekend programming we need, more ideas keep bouncing from the Influentia crowd and with urging from Radioactivity, we decided to add this one in too.  The concept is interesting enough that it may actually cross over to lower demos.

"Lounge music is a sort of easy listening music prevalent in the 1950s and 1960s.  It was derived from jazz and other musical fundamentals borrowed from backgrounds around the world.  Artists like Les Baxter, Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman sold millions of records during its zenith. It combined music that was popular outside the USA, such as various Latin types like Bossa Nova, Cha-Cha-Cha and Mambo.

"Swing big band music is also considered lounge and consisted of a cloying continuation of the swing and jazz period of the 1930s and 1940s, but with more of an emphasis on the vocalist.

"The legendary Rat Pack of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., along with similar artists such as Bobby Darin, Jackie Gleason, Wayne Newton and Louis Prima are notable examples.

"Lounge singers have an extensive history dating back many decades. The somewhat derisive term lounge lizard was coined and less famous lounge singers have often been ridiculed or parodied as dinosaurs.

"Lounge music remerged in the late Eighties with younger fans whose parents had listened to such music in the Sixties. It has enjoyed resurgences in popularity since then led initially by iconic artists like Buster Poindexter.

"My Way will encompass the Rat Package mentality of the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra, and a whole lot more with a twist of a sense of humor about how lounge music has been parodied in movies, television and even music.

"Thinking that we were 'full up' on short form weekend programming especially for older demo approaches, something like this can truly cross over to younger listeners as well so inside jumping to the approach of this being a full-time format, this weekend approach looks as if it could be appropriate.

"We're also considering an alternate version of the format that would/could also be called My Way a collection of music selections by teenagers as a play-off of this format as well as YouTube, compiled and presented by high schoolers.

"All possible angles are being considered at this point in the format's development. We can start with it as a weekend feature and see where it develops from there."
