BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Jan. 22, 2018 - PRLog -- BK Style Foundation, a diverse platform supporting emerging creative talents, announced today a new advisory board that will help propel the foundation in a fresh and innovative direction. This year the foundation is poised to once again launch its bi-annual fashion event, Fashion Week Brooklyn (FWBK) SS2018 themed "Haute Brooklyn," showcasing international designers. The week-long experience is slated to present extraordinary segments kicking off April 5, 2018, with a press and media reception at the Brooklyn Borough Hall president's office.

This season guests will marvel on collective segments such as "Genderless Fashion", a panel discussion about gender roles in fashion presented by BK Speaks, Fashion and Art, Tech and Sustainable Fashion, "The New Cannabis" presented by BK Culture, "Young Designers Showcase," and much more. The opening ceremony will kick-off once again with Video Music Box on April 8. The foundation's iconic fashion event will wrap up with eclectic fashion presentations. FWBK's presenting sponsor Kings Plaza Mall will host the closing reception along with a "Retailers Runway" show.

BK Style Foundation announces new advisory board members for 2018 who are multi multi-faceted innovators and leaders

Abby Wallach, Executive Board Director

Entrepreneur and founder of Linger Fragrance, Wallach has held executive positions at Showtime Networks Inc., and Nederlander Television and Film. She was the co-founder of Beautiful Stranger.tv, the first online media brand connecting content and commerce. Remodista, a social think tank had nominated Abby as one of the Women 2 Watch in Global Retail Disruption in 2016.

Connie Chi, Foundation Chair

Founder and CEO of The Chi Group a branding agency humanizing and co-branding brands through experiences. The agency works with global clients in fashion, spirits/liquors, health & wellness, food, hospitality, events, and entertainment. The Chi Group is also the branding agency of record for BK Style Foundation and Fashion Week Brooklyn.

Brad Welling, Advisory Board

Clever, simple and classic are three traits that describe Brad Welling, a model of TRUE Model Management in New York City proves why age is just a number. In his fifties, he is also a lawyer and father of a six-year-old girl. Originally from Utah, Brad started modeling two years ago and has worked with New York fashion photographer Rick Day, Andrew Basile, former Fashion Director and Vice President of Calvin Klein, underwear designer Richard Dayhoff, and the famed American photographer Tina Barney. He has appeared in international publications and was on the cover of Satellite Magazine. Welling will also co-produce "Genderless Fashion," a panel discussion about gender roles in fashion.

David Hand, Advisory Board

Discovered by a model scout at 50 and signed to NEXT Models at 51, David is making his mark as one of New York City's premier 50-plus fashion and fitness models, strutting runways and gracing pages at home and overseas. His mission is to inspire people of all ages to live with style. He is also a Creative Director/ Video Producer, and proof positive that agile minds and youthful spirits never go out of fashion.
