TUGHLAKABAD, India - Jan. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- Education is one of the most powerful tools of strengthening the bond of humanity. It is the best gift you can give it to a child as every child dreams to gain knowledge, to learn, to be informed and aware by the process of education so that they can be the ideal citizen of a country in future. Education is also a necessity for every child as an educated child can have a good career and a job, which in turn will help in the economic growth of a country.

However, the harsh reality of the current scenario is that for most children, education is neither a dream nor a necessity. It is mostly a desire, which in most cases is not fulfilled. The amount of illiteracy is so much prevailing in the country, that forget about quality education, even the basic education is not provided to majority of children.

According to the estimate of Indian government, 59 million children within the age group from 6 to 14, out of 200 million are not being able to attend school. On the top of that, nearly 4 out of every 10 children who are currently studying in school will drop out before completing their primary education. This shows that the situation is really pathetic.

The children cannot be blamed for this situation. Over 20% of the Indian population, still today are below the poverty line as per the 2012 census. On the top of that there are many families who are still very poor, even if they are not below the poverty line. Thus, these families cannot afford their children to educate, even if the children are given free education. They want their children to earn and earn from very small age so that they can provide economic support to the family which will help them to meet the basic necessities for survival.

There is however a silver lining among the bunch of dark clouds. We as privileged human beings can help these children to educate and be the part of this mainstream society. If we take small steps by showing our kind to these unprivileged yet fully talented children, then we will surely see them shining in the future.

As responsible citizens of our country we can help the underprivileged children to help in the following ways-

Starting a weekend mobile school- Forthis, you just need a minivan and help from few volunteers. By identifying an area having the highest concentration of poor people, you can take your mobile school van to that area in the weekends. With the help of the volunteers, you can track the children and start teaching them in your van by making it a virtual classroom with balanced curriculum of academics and fun activities. Make it fun and engaging, which will make more and more children to turn out.

Start a volunteer classroom inside your house- If you cannot afford van and volunteers, you can even make a virtual classroom inside your living room and start teaching the poor children for free. Teaching children in your home as the best advantage; you can teach them whenever you can, before going to office, after coming back from office and on the weekends as well. You just need to make it aware of the free teaching you are providing in your house. This can also be easily done from the word of mouth which can be of anyone, your maid, your milkman, your neighbourhood, etc.

Creation of a sport activity for the underprivileged children every month- Education is not always about academic learning. It also means learning of culture, values and tradition and basic etiquettes, which can be learnt best when children engaged themselves in sport activities. Thus every month, with the help of few volunteers and close friends family members you can arrange one sport activity for the poor children.

Spreading awareness of importance of education- Along with the sport activity, you can also take the day to spread the awareness of importance of education among the children along with their parents and family members. You can talk about the benefits of education by citing examples through pictorial or PowerPoint presentation which will be attractive in the eyes of children as well as their family members.

Thus you can take the small steps discussed above to help the poor and needy children. Donating money is not always the solution to help these children. They need special care and with your small steps, you can make their future bright. Perhaps the most satisfactory thing in the world is to bring a smile in the face of an underprivileged child and education is the best way to provide that smile.
