National Security Service Supports DC Area Veterans

NEW YORK - Nov. 2, 2017 - PRLog -- NSS donates security guard services at Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) Resource Fair 2017
NEW YORK, NY, October 30, 2017  –  National Security Service is proud to support Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) by donating security guard services at the very first DVNF Veterans Resource Fair 2017 in the DC area. Veterans and their families can enjoy this free event on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Silver Spring, MD.

"I want to thank NSS. Their support means a lot to us," says Leander Brereton, spokesperson for DVNF. Assistance from businesses and corporate sponsors is a key element to making an event like this a success. "We wanted to help and providing our security guard services seemed like the right thing to do," says Edward Stevens, CEO of National Security Service, provider of security services nationwide. "This event provides much needed resources and support for our disabled veterans," adds Stevens.

According to DVNF resources (http://dvnf.org/), 3.8 million veterans have some form of service-related disability with 1 in 5 veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and/or depression. More than a quarter of a million Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom veterans suffer from traumatic brain injury. Many veterans are homeless and have problems finding and keeping a job.

The main emphasis for the fair will be employment services, but education officials and non-profit organizations from the DC, Maryland and Virginia areas will be available to offer help and information to veterans. Free giveaways from businesses, corporate sponsors, and even free yoga classes will be part of the day's events.

"We need to step up to the plate and give back to the men and women who have fought for our country," says Stevens. "Veterans need jobs and DVNF is doing their best, but they need our help."
