Trenton Educational Foundation Goes Around the World for next fundraiser

TRENTON, Mich. - Oct. 24, 2017 - PRLog -- Organizers of the Educational Foundation's annual Signature Event are planning a trip around the world!

    The seventh annual gala is Nov. 11, but plans are well under way for the fundraiser, monies from which are biannually dispersed for programs not figured into the annual Trenton Public Schools budget.

    TEF was established in 2008 by a consortium of community leaders committed to enhancing educational opportunities throughout the district.

    To date, $131,159 has been awarded for staff grants, plus $31,000 in student scholarships, plus another $ 49,488 in special events and projects and the FIRST Robotics Team.

    Eager to provide further grants, the organizing committee is taking a slightly different approach to the event, which will still include Wall of Fame inductions.

    The committee has chosen the theme "Around the World," and is adding elements of fun to the program, according to Laura Trosien, chairperson.

    This year's Signature Event will be a dinner/dance at the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club, and every aspect of the program — from cocktails to music and raffles — will make you want to get your passport (ticket) soon to experience the world and make Trenton Schools programs just a bit more worldly!
