With a sensational variety of holiday delicacies to choose from, it will be difficult to know where to start. Will it be the warmth of the Local Sweet Potato Soup or choosing something sweet from the holiday-themed desserts? Topnotch Resort's Dinner Buffet offers something delicious for everyone. Begin with an assortment of starters that include cured meats; a delightful beet salad; a fresh raw bar; a crisp spiced pear salad or a selection of Vermont cheeses. Continue to the main course to try the entire collection, from garlic and herb roasted turkey with cranberry sauce and porcini mushroom gravy; savory braised beef short rib with broccolini and pearl onions; lemon pork loin with curried couscous, dried cranberries, wilted spinach and apple chutney; to the baked cod with pumpkin risotto and sage tomato vinaigrette. Round out this meal with a variety of side dishes such as maple sausage stuffing; candied sweet potatoes; whipped potatoes; roasted root vegetables; green beans, sage cream; or fried onions. Finish this culinary experience with a one (or all!) of the available desserts: pumpkin pie, spiced apple pie or caramel cheesecake. With three convenient seatings (2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.), this Thanksgiving dinner is priced at $49 for adults, $22 for children 5-12 years old and kids 5 years old and younger eat free. Begin with your choice of the Flannel salad, which includes crumbled VT Chevre cheese; a seasonal shaved root vegetable salad, the roasted cauliflower with a fresh curry emulsion; or enjoy fruits from the sea and order the seasonal oysters. Main course options include the timelessness of the garlic and herb roasted turkey with whipped potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a sweet maple sausage stuffing; a tender eight ounce filet mignon, accompanied by smashed fingerling potatoes, asparagus, truffle vinaigrette and herb salad; sesame crusted Ahi tuna with black barley, crisp baby bok choy and a ginger-soy reduction; for a vegetarian option, the cauliflower steak is sliced, seasoned and grilled to perfection, and is complemented by a lentil puree, pickled shallot, Brussel slaw and herbs. Cap off this dining experience with a Thanksgiving dessert including Pumpkin Pie, Spiced Apple Pie or creamy Caramel Cheesecake.
