CHAGUANAS, Trinidad & Tobago - Sept. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- As students transition from secondary to tertiary education, the choice of university and the choice of programme are aplenty in Trinidad. Unlike the past where there was only one campus in Trinidad, now students can choose from various recognised Tertiary Level Institutions offering recognised University Degree programmes. This means that, the cost of achieving a degree in Trinidad, may be less as there is no need to pay for boarding fees given there is a campus relatively close to most locations.

CSEC TO DEGREE

Traditionally, students needed to complete their CAPE (Advanced Level) qualification to get into a University programme, now this is no longer a mandatory requirement. Students who have completed their CSEC (Ordinary Level) qualification may enrol directly into some degree programmes by starting at the Level 4 Diploma stage. This allows a student to complete their degree as much as 2 years earlier than the traditional model.

WORK EXPERIENCE TO DEGREE

At the same time, persons with work experience can start their degree regardless of their previous academic success. Students can also undertake their degree via full time or part time classes. This means that ideally, anyone can now enrol in a degree programme without having to leave their job. Visit us http://silverlacegraphics.net/

A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN 2 YEARS

Given the dynamic nature of the environment (politically, socially and technologically), students are no longer willing to spend as much as 5 years doing their degree (2 years for CAPE and 3 years for the degree). Awarding bodies have recognised the importance of work experience and therefore have allowed students with work experience to matriculate into a higher level of the degree. This means that working individuals can now complete their bachelor's degree in as little as 2 years with part time classes.

SCHOLARSHIPS IN TRINIDAD

Given the economic downturn in Trinidad, the Government approved several changes to the GATE programme which provides funding for tuition fees for tertiary level studies. These changes to the GATE programme removes GATE funding from most ACTT "Registered" institutions. It now means that students registering for a bachelor's degree, may now need to pay tuition fees apart from the registration and administration and other University fees applicable. To help to reduce the impact of the removal of GATE funding, some institutions are offering scholarships as well as payment plans to assist students. These efforts are geared to put a degree within the reach of most individuals.
