MUMBAI, India - Sept. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- Notion Press, India's fastest growing self-publishing company, has brought out a unique book "The Modern Weaponry of the World's Armed Forces" by Col. Y Udaya Chandar (Retd).

War, weapons, military – these are words the citizens of the world tend to avoid somehow. Everybody wants to be safe and secure but very few know the details about the defence system which is protecting us day and night. Not only the common man, but even soldiers do not have an in-depth knowledge about the modern weapons used on the battlefield.

Udaya Chandar, a retired colonel, aims to enlighten people and soldiers through his book which is a treatise on military weaponry. The book deals with the history of military weapons, the weaponry of the army, navy and air force, missiles and nuclear arsenal. Each chapter throws light on the different types of weapons spread across the three modes of war – land, sea and air. It features about 40 present day weapon systems possessed by various nations with examples from each category, including a brief description of specifications, origin, development and design.

Explaining about the book, the author said, "I have noticed that very few people know about weaponry. Even the officers are not completely aware of the distinctions between different weapons, for example, the difference between a cruise missile and a ballistic missile, a 4th generation jet fighter and a 5th generation jet fighter and a howitzer and a field gun amongst others. I have highlighted these nuances in this book clearly. It is very important for us to know these differences as the smallest mistake can cause great havoc."

Published by Notion Press, the book "The Modern Weaponry of the World's Armed Forces" is currently available on Notion Press book store, Amazon, Flipkart and other ecommerce stores.
