The Governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun told reporters about the results of the year

MURMANSK, Russian Federation - Dec. 21, 2016 - PRLog -- More than over 60 journalists from newspapers, radio, television, internet-media of the Murmansk region and the Federal media took part in the press-conference.

First of all Marina Kovtun mentioned that region has developed an effective system of work in accordance of «President's indications from May».

The main results of the year

«President's indications from May – the basis of our  policy. There is  a clear program of reforms in the economy, education, health and housing. The deadline is 2018», -said Maria Kovtun. To this point the Murmansk region has а good results. All these years, the region was in the top five-three leaders of the Northwestern Federal District. For some assignments, the region is moving ahead of expectations.

«Over the past few years the socio-economic situation in the Murmansk region shows a more than positive trend –industrial growth, financial result, the increase in the standard of living of the population. I believe that this is the result of very deliberate strategy of the management of the region and quality of its implementation», - said in an interview with the reporter of   Infox.ru (http://www.infox.ru/) the Chairman of the Commission on the development of the real sector of the economy, Sergey Grigoriev.

The sustainable budget

«Budget of the Murmansk region is sustainable. The stabilization of the situation in the economy allowed to return to a three-year budget planning», - said Marina Kovtun.

The head of the region explained that in the budget management, the main task now - the reduction of inefficient expenses and restraining growth of public debt.

«I believe that the reducing ineffective expenditures is the following the guidance of the Federation. This is the position stated by the Ministry of Finance. Such a position is justified in this region», - said he Director of the Center for the study of regional reform Alexander Deryugin.

«When we think about ecology, we think about the future generations»

Special attention in his speech Marina Kovtun paid a Year of ecology, which was announced by the President of Russia. In the framework of the Year of ecology in the Murmansk region it is planned to implement more than 100 projects.

The investment projects actively discussed аt a press conference.

For example, the correspondent of Agency «Interfax» asked about the project of «Rosneft».
In answering this question, Marina Kovtun stressed that, in 2017 the company plans to begin design and survey work which will last until the end of 2019. Based on these data will be developed project documentation for the future construction of a coastal base of support.
One of the last was a question of the correspondent of «Komsomolskaya Pravda» about what does the head of the region thinks about the 200-th anniversary of Murmansk.

«To assume the future of Murmansk is easy. The fate of this city determined by its location. 100 years ago it was founded as an ocean port, a road junction in the far North of Russia. During the century the essence of Murmansk hasn't changed this idea. I see Murmansk 2016 as a powerful transport hub», – said Marina Kovtun.
