World Brotherhood Organization (WBO)
marked its Annual World Brotherhood Day with much fanfare, camaraderie and solidarity on December 18th. As an international, voluntary, non-profit, non-political social organization, WBO is making a qualitative difference to the society since its foundation in 1999. By reawakening the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood on the basis of humanity, WBO propagates peace, progressiveness and better coordination between individuals and societies. Their work positively impacts people from all walks and spheres of life, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

The Annual Day Celebrations on December 18th had many dignitaries including, Mr. Udit Raj, Member Parliament from North West Delhi, Mr. Sanjay Singh Jt. Commissioner, Dr. D.S. Rana,Kidney Specialist and Chairman, Sir Gangaram Hospital, Mr. S.S Chadha of Wave Cinema Group and many other eminent personalities. As this event also marked the celebration of Christmas and New Year, several Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Embassies of Palestine, Republic of Slovenia, Algeria, Burkina Faso, among others and renowned singers and artists like Pankaj Jeswani also graced the occasion with their presence. The Annual World Brotherhood Day is marked every year on the Sunday preceding Christmas.

This year WBO also initiated The WBO Rattan Awards for people who made outstanding contributions in their respective fields in 2016. The list of awardees included, Padmashri Awardee, Dr. D.S. Rana, Kidney Specialist and Chairman Sir Gangaram Hospital; Mr. Abhinav Bindra, World Champion & Olympic Gold Medalist, Mr. Harjeet Singh Sabharwal Eminent Social Worker for helping cancer patients, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Channa, Social Worker for upgrading & managing cremation grounds all over Delhi as well as in other fields and Mr. Ashwani Kumar Chopra, Chief Editor and Owner of Punjab Kesari.

Mr. SS Marwah, Hony. Secretary General, WBO shared his gratification with resolve for the future, "We seek to provide a common platform to people of diverse backgrounds. We urge them to come forth and work for the betterment of the society as a unit and foster brotherhood, harmony and unity among all religions and communities as we look forward to working towards a better and brighter tomorrow, effused with the light of hope and peace.We feel proud of every contribution we make in fostering a healthy society. We are happy for the winners of the 1st WBO Rattan Awards thank all guests, members and team behind for their sincere efforts. A Very Happy 2017 to all!" WBO aspires to foster 'Sarva Dharma-Sadbhavna', which translates to respecting the equality of all religions and developing mutual respect for all and to step aside from the narrow, parochial and communal or religious overtones which unfortunately are plaguing society today.

The Annual Day Celebrations at Marwah Farms, New Delhi commenced with a painting competition for children up to 12 years, followed by a fancy dress competition for children up to 6 years and several dance and cultural programs. The felicitation of awardees was preceded by lunch. The event culminated with a lucky draw competition with lots of prizes being won. Mr. SS Marwah also announced deployment of 5 dispensary vans to provide free medical consultation and medicines to the underprivileged around the city. Indian Potash Ltd. and Mr. Ashok Hazari Lal Garg, Chairman, Aska Group will support this noble cause.

World Brotherhood Organization is motivated by a desire to inspire, mobilize, and bring together people from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. It further seeks to strengthen the bonds of love and sharing aimed at keeping the social matrix healthy and enriched. While WBO has its routes basically in India, it is also spreading its wings globally. This is being done by extending the membership across borders. Their membership comprises of eminent people from all walks of life and includes industrialists, diplomats, government officials, doctors, lawyers, academia and other intellectuals, besides social workers and politicians.
