Jonathan Halperin Recognized For Work on Behalf of Injured Prisoners

Halperin's Richmond City Jail Lawsuit Recovery the Largest in Virginia

WASHINGTON - Dec. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- Jonathan Halperin, a founding partner of Zukerberg & Halperin, has been recognized as a leader in the fight to assure that incarcerated citizens receive proper medical care while in jail.  His recent lawsuit against the City of Richmond, the Richmond Sheriff's Office, and the jail medical contractor is the highest award recorded in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch is reporting today on Mr. Halperin's lawsuit on behalf of Stefan Woodson, after he suffered a life-altering heatstroke in a jail without proper air or ventilation*. Halperin's $2.99 million dollar recovery is the largest on behalf of a prisoner ever recorded in the Commonwealth.  $500,000 came from the City of Richmond, the rest from insurance.

"We carefully investigate every case," said Halperin, "and if there's been negligence, we make the wrongful party pay."

Zukerberg & Halperin is a full-service personal injury law firm with offices in Glen Allen, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Jonathan & his partner, Paul Zukerberg, review cases of prisoner negligence in cases across the nation with no fee unless they win.
