By: Flagler Broadcasting "We have been working on the new format since October," said David Ayres, Flagler Broadcasting's Vice President & General Manager. "We wanted to do something new and different in 2017," he added. Ayres is confident the residents of Flagler County will embrace the new station's '60's and '70's format. Listeners can expect to hear songs from the Eagle's, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatle's, Motown music and more. "It's amazing to think we started eight and a half years ago with a blank slate and have grown to five stations through our local and community involvement," Flagler Broadcasting went live in 2008 and has a total of five radio stations that broadcast from St. Augustine to Daytona Beach. The last station they added was KIX Country 98.7FM two years ago. They have also grown their physical location in Bunnell from two units, to a total of six units in 'City Plaza'. Also new is their mobile app, "Flagler Radio". All the radio stations can be heard worldwide by downloading the app for free from Apple or the Play Store. Flagler Broadcasting is located at 2405 East Moody Blvd, in Bunnell, FL. They have five radio stations: WNZF News Radio 1550AM/106.3FM, BEACH 92.7, KIX Country 98.7, Easy Oldies 100.9 – which will change format to KOOL 100.9FM on Dec. 26th, and St. Augustine BEACH 105.5. They employ 23 people and can be reached at 386-437-1992 or online at http://www.flaglerbroadcasting.com. ___________ About Flagler Broadcasting In 2007, Lynn Hawkins of DeLand-based Flag Radio, Inc. sold the construction permit of WAYI-AM 1550 to Flagler County Broadcasting, LLC (James E. Martin, Gary S. Smithwick, William G. Brown, Clifton G. Moor). In May of 2008 the City of Bunnell Planning and Zoning Committee unanimously approved a site plan for Flagler county's first full service commercial radio station. WNZF Radio launched their broadcast on 1550 am with 8,700 watts on the AM band and simulcasting on 106.3 FM. Flagler Broadcasting's association with InterMart Broadcasting brings it decades of experience in building and operating radio stations throughout the Southeast, including stations in Atlanta, St. Augustine, Miami, Orlando, Palm Beach, Naples and Fort Myers. In addition to Martin, who has been involved in the construction and management of 22 radio stations, company officials include Gary S. Smithwick, a communications attorney who has operated a radio station in North Carolina. Clifton G. Moor and William G. Brown are also on the management team and manage the engineering part of the stations. End
