Northeast Florida Safety Council Announces WJXT Anchor/Reporter Micolucci As 2016 Media Award Winner

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Dec. 14, 2016 - PRLog -- The Northeast Florida Safety Council, Inc. (NEFSC) presented Vic Micolucci, WJXT-TV anchor/reporter with the 2016 Jerry Hamm Media Award.

         Micolucci was cited for his comprehensive coverage of the Workers' Memorial Day event held last April, that honored those who lost their lives in the workplace. In addition, it was noted that he uses NEFSC throughout the year as a resource for information regarding safety issues that affect the Northeast Florida community and businesses.

         The award, which has been presented for the past 50 years and is given at the organization's annual membership meeting and holiday luncheon, is named after member Jerry Hamm, former owner of Jerry Hamm Chevrolet.

         "One of our major missions at the Safety Council is to inform the public on concerns and issues affecting public safety and workplace safety," explained Shana Harvey, public relations director for NEFSC. " It really helps to have someone like Vic, who understands the importance of public safety and who is willing to use us to help get important information to the public."
