Detectamet Marks the First Year of Success in the USA

RICHMOND, Va. - Nov. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- The opening last year of Detectamet Inc in Richmond VA was a major step for the supplier of the most Detectable Products in the world. The good wishes of the people of Henrico gave heart and hope to the new local company.

Thirteen months later company Chairman Sean Smith has announced that sales in its first year in the USA exceeded expectations. " Our sales to North America before we opened in Richmond were a good six figure sum" Smith explained "but getting closer to our American customers and finding new ones every day has resulted in a fourfold increase in turnover and enabled our company to pass the million dollar turnover mark."

To mark the passing f this milestone the company has started a new award scheme to recognise food producers who are demonstrating a good food safety culture by their efforts to reduce the risk of food contamination. "I have often described our detectable products as silent guardians helping to protect a company's reputation for producing safe food" Smith said " So we have launched the Detectamet Guardian awards that will be presented as a Silver, Gold or Platinum standard "

Experiencing the US way of doing good business and taking the opportunities to explain the technical benefits of Detectamet's detectable products have been major steps forward. The US food industry is going through important changes and Smith believes the company is well placed to help US food producers.

The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is acknowledged to be the most sweeping reform of US food safety laws in more than 70 years. It aims to ensure the US food supply is safe by shifting the focus from responding to contamination to preventing it.
