![]() Author to Release New "Beatles Encyclopedia" This MonthBy: KennethWomack.com "The original two-volume edition of the Encyclopedia was thorough, but massive," said Womack. "My editor felt that the original publication could be condensed into a more affordable single volume, so that's what I did." The new book will be an easier-to-handle version of the go-to reference guide. And, since significant events in the Beatles' canon continue to unfold (such as the passing of their famed producer in March 2016), the revising of the Encyclopedia allowed for such important updates. "Sir George Martin's passing was definitely a big moment in the timeline of the band's existence," Womack continued. "That, along with a number of other milestones, presented the opportunity to preserve the Encyclopedia's timeliness with this revision." An award-winning American fiction writer and literary critic, Kenneth Womack serves as Dean of the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University in New Jersey, where he is also a Professor of English. He is the author of three novels and editor of numerous volumes of literary and cultural criticism, as well as the author of several books on the Beatles, including Long and Winding Roads: The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles. Womack's next release, Maximum Volume: The Life of Beatles Producer George Martin (The Early Years: 1926-1966), is forthcoming in 2017. His books are available on Amazon.
