Joint Venture, Group Collaborative Exhibition

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- December 8 - January 6, Opening Reception: December 10, 6-9PM

Joint Venture exhibits works of art created in collaboration by adult artists from the Exceptional Children's Foundation (ECF), Westside Center, who were paired with undergraduate students from Otis College of Art and Design.

Together, fourteen ECF and fifteen Otis artists shared their creative processes, working environments and artistic passions over the course of almost three months. The collaborations that evolved produced the exciting paintings, sculptures, installations and digital art on display in Joint Venture. The exhibition is part of an Otis College course titled "Uniquely Abled," designed by instructor Michele Jaquis to broadening perspectives about the possibilities of creativity, and to offer students, faculty and the public an opportunity to appreciate the range and quality of diverse artistic expression.

Joint Venture brings together two respected local institutions with long standing commitments to education and social integration. This project is part of the Otis College Creative Action Program, geared toward applying studio skills and liberal studies to real-world, communitybuilding settings.
